A/C stalls my engine EFI question
What are you guys setting your A/C airflow ramp in and out? (Grams per second) B4354
Mine looks like this:
Ramp in
nm Value
0 1.0
5 2.0
11 3.0
16 4.0
22 5.0
27 5.0
33 5.0
38 5.0
43 5.0
40 5.0
.
.
And Ramp out:
All values read 0.00
Also related to G0108 A/C Torque loss and G0109 A/C Torque loss-IAT
Trying to keep my engine from dying and surging when I turn on the AC compressor. It kicks on and off and wont blow cold unless I give it a couple hundred more rpm by pushing the gas pedal a bit. If I am in park it will almost always kill the engine or surge up and down really bad as the AC compressor comes on and off. I added rpm to the B4603 desired idle speeds in the "In-Gear A/C On and In P/N A/C on" columns and that only made the surging worse and it still dies. Looking for ideas.
Thanks,
Chris

I up'd them 200rpm to 1050 with the A/c on and it still dies in park or when stopping at a red light. While driving there is no issue only at idle or if you let of the gas pedal at say 55 and coast, still in Drive, it will try to die when you get around 1200rpm or so and surge.
What are the stock settings for ac ramp in/out?
I want to idle around 750-800, actaully I'd like 650 it it would stay running just ot hear the lope but it wont idle that low. As it stands now I have to turn off the AC if I'm stoppping or in park.
Could it be a mechanical problem? Maybe the AC clutch has bad bearings?

Does the truck drop a few hundred rpm when the compressor kicks on, almost die, and then recover? Mine does that but even after it recovers its still not spinning fast enough to make cold air. It will blow warm air unless I give it a little pedal. Cruising down the road everything is normal. My compressor has 70K or so miles on it but I don't want to mess with it if its a tune issue. Once you speed up the engine the air gets ice cold.

At Idle, Its Not Quite As Cold As When Im Gassing It, When The Ac Is On, Sometimes It Does Stumble A Little Bit Going From Park To Drive, Or From Drive To Reverse. It Also Has An Intermittant Missfire @ Cruising Speed Just For A Split Second At A Time. The Truck Doesnt Idle Too Low, But It Has A "weak" Idle, I Guess You Could Say.....OH AND AS SOON AS I TURN THE AC OFF, IT ALL GOES AWAY AND RUNS FINE....

Have you tuned your idle airflow tables yet? Mine had issues with the Radix and E-fans (turn on when A/C comes on!). Even without the Radix (but using e-fans) I had to work the idle airflow tables. If you've never touched them now may be the time

what is the timming at during this time? i've been having this horable idle problem. the idle air table was set rpm was set but it wouldn't hold an idle finnally i uped the timming in the in park and in drive idle spark table all the way across the board and in the low rpm side of things. stock was like 10* so i had move it up but only went down to to the .52 g/cyl and to the 1200 rpm spot but when it dips down sometimes it can drop to the .60 g/cyl or lower and if the timming is not cranked up in that spot it will not recover as well or at all. sorry for the run on sentence there lol.
