Oh, and stop trying used batteries. Your truck is special, and it doesn't appreciate second hand parts.

Bumpers 09-27-2011 11:34 PM

I will mess with it some more and see if I can find anything.. I doubt my engine is seizing up and if it is I'm just gunna set the truck on fire and call it a loss lol.. Its gotta be something small just gotta find it

I wish I could help more. If you were near here, I'd test & diagnose it for you, N/C. The new MidTronics testers will quickly & easily test your battery, test your starter draw, and even tell you if it has a bad connection.

Buy me a plane ticket, I've never been to Mississippi. I'll even buy you a new battery! :)

Haha if I can't figure it out I may have too :) electronics and wiring are really my weak point as I hate them with the passion of 10000 burning suns.
Thanx for your help.. I really appreciate it

You'll get it fixed, and you'll laugh about it someday.

Be sure to post up what you find, seems like alot of threads get started, but never post the ending.

I didn't mind to read all the comments, but get under there and check the connections to and from the starter.. You seem to have eliminated the battery and possible grounds.. I say it is a starter issue, loose wires/connections or your starter is on its way out...

Its bc you turned it into a race truck :jest:

Bumpers 12-05-2011 09:54 AM

Well I replaced the ground wires thinking they may have been a culprit but it did nothing other than my windows roll up quicker now :) the factory ground wire that went to the engine had some buildup in it so I thought it may be giving me a problem but now I have 2guage goin from the engine to the batt, and 4 guage to the frame and body so now I know its not the ground wires as well.

I would really like to fix this but I have no idea anymore

sell the truck and buy a dmax with a 6" lift on 38s problem solved :jest:

You should check the positive cable to the starter because if there is any corrison there it will have issues. What you could do is take a set of jumper cables and hook the one end on the positive post of the battery and the other on the starter and see if it turns over any differently.
