Disable adaptive shift learning after Shift Kit Install

I placed my order with FLT for a shift kit and other goodies. I allready have both servos, Soooooooo I have read that you need to disable adaptive shift learning after you install a shift kit, is this true? I read that you zero out your shift times, which disables the learning. I have also read that if you don't it will cause your shifts to soften over time. Has anyone else done this?

Found these threads
the Shift speed on that table is just telling the trans to try to hit that time during a shift. The shorter the better, but the firmer the shift will be.
If you 0 out that table, then you are just shutting off the adaptive trans learning system. It dont mean you are commanding a 0 second shift..
People with shiftkits are supposed to remove the adaptive shift system. So zeroing out that table is correct.
If not removed with a shiftkit, then the computer sees that the trans is shifting too fast and it will pull pressure " via the adaptive shift system " and try to slow the shifts back down.
That is why guys with a shift kit or modded tranny see the transmission shift really good for a couple miles when they first plug on thier battery. then the trans slowly starts backing down....

Thanks Justin, So after I zero out the tables I can fine tune the base pressures to my liking?
Is there a PID to measure transmission slip. I think I read somewhere that you log engine output vs transmission input, something like that but I can't find the thread....

Zero is it .(Jesse @ Wait4me Performance helped with mine , thanks Jesse .)
Been running a TransGo kit , and zeroed shift times , after the kit you don't really need to do much by way of line pressure the kit does that for you .
If done correctly you probably want want to mess with the trans in the PCM , start with stock settings , except the shift time , that is if you have raised anything for the trans in the PCM (line pressure) .
