It's in the programming but you cannot enable it.

Yeah it makes you wonder which is worse for the environment 3mpg more or a little NOx gas? My wallet says lean cruise please! I wonder though, could you run a Australian PCM and then enable it thru HPT? Or is it the fact that the HPT is sold in the US and they won't allow us to use it.

HPT can enable it, in the car PCM. Why not in the truck PCM?

Thanks.

It dosen't allow you to...you can check the box, but I don't think it really does anything. I guess I'd have to do some research on the HPtuners site to be sure.

Yup, there is a code in the pcm that looks to see if your running a Holden pcm or (I believe) certain year GTOs have it and if not it will not enable lean cruise even if its showing enabled via HP Tuners.
Believe me I have HPT and tried it, plus this topic has been beaten to death on all the forums and it does not work. One way to get it to work is to have someone re-code the pcm but you'll have to figure out who'll do that for you cause I don't know but I know a couple people have done it.

Yeah I was doing that for a while, got pretty decent gas milage as well but I kept getting a weird bucking happening when I let off the gas around 40mph+ and cruise to a stop. It wasn't really that bad but it annoyed me enought that I finally went back to CL.
