dyno tunning / Second or Third gear?
Hi all,
i have swapped the cam and torque converter
and am going to dyno to tune it in 2 days
question for tuners and experts : What gear should i dyno my car in? becuase my tuner use second gear always as he said but told me its my choice if i want to run it in third
and what about the converter?
my car is nnbs rcsb 4x4
thanks and sorry if its the wrong section because its related to tuning i assume the dyno section is for results only

just do it all in 2nd. depending on the dyno it will take a long time for a 3rd gear pull. If you wanna show how big your dick is do a 3rd gear pull but to me it aint worth the risks of throwing a driveshaft.

i dont care for numbers to be honest , anyways the dyno is dyno dynamics which reads soooooo low (my bro 08 z06 on the same dyno ran 380 before and 405 after tune) just want it to be tuned the best way and should feel the difference on the street i guess
for the numbers it should be something between 380 and 400 rwhp on this combination
most important thing is the tune wont be effected if 2nd or 3rd thats what i wanted to know
thanks

if u do it in second, its not going to be locked, 3rd gear....be carefull with the driveshaft, dont stand close to the truck..lol ..just do it in second to adjust everything...but you will prolly have to upgrade the driveshaft anyway, if it dont brake on the dyno, it will prolly break trying to go past 120..on the road.
those driveshafts are about .080 thick...
