Default Dyno'ed at 208RWHP on the dyno... wth? (stock tune)

Hey guys, I just took my truck to the dyno to see what numbers I am putting down right now. I have long tube headers and cold air intake, stock tune.

I put down 208RWHP, using 2nd gear (3rd gear wouldn't let me go past 4,000RPM..)

is that normal? or was the stock pcm tune restricting power? or is the dyno not correct?

thanks

I have a feeling it was because you dyno'd in 2nd gear.

My stock LQ9 with headers put down 305 rwhp in 2nd gear. With the stock exhaust it did 268 rwhp I believe.

What kind of dyno? Sounds like some sort of number correction mistake. You should atleast be around 250+

it was a mustang dyno, I saw them dyno 3 other vehicles while I was there. A v8 Nissan Titan made about 230 RWHP, a old model chevy truck made 193rwhp (sounded cammed) and a new toyota matrix made 190hp

GMCtrk--- when I tried it in 3rd gear, it wouldn't let me go past 4,000RPM (about 90mph) and I ended up making about 180rwhp lol

nope, I actually just bought the truck barely a month ago

the numbers the dyno was putting out for the vehicles I saw did not seem right at all- the older style chevy truck should have atleast put down 300rwhp, but it couldn't go past 200rwhp

I should have taken it to an actual speed shop, the 'dyno day' took place at a mechanic school

Yeah I wouldnt sweat it man, all the numbers dont sound right. If you really want a dyno sheet, stick it on a dynojet. Youll be much happier

Very strong 5.3. Is that the norm these days with the next gen 5.3? I know the original ones were only good for about 230 to the tires.

Yeah, a lot of the guys on the forum where the dyno day was advertised didn't like that it was a mustang dyno.. it sucks I wasted money on a dyno run that wasn't accurate..
