Arrow EFI live trouble- wont log DTC's

Not sure what I am or am not doing. Have EfI 7.5.. Hook it up to the truck, click the app pcm, connect it. It connects fine, but the buttons at the bottom that are lit up to rec-stop ect, do not lite up. So I can not record, or get live data to see why my SES lite is on.. Any info?? Is there a renewal of this or is it good forever?? Not trying to tune, just log. I will be the first to admit, I am not EFI live savy, not scared to say it.. Thanks

Open the scan tool and click the engine icon under the "Charting" and the printer icon.

"Diaplay current, pending trouble codes..."

Oh, from the tune tool to open the scan tool it is the icon to the top/right that looks like a car with a tach behind it.

Ah...
Have you registered this laptop by entering the key in the Help>Register EFI tab? Is the key turned on (engine off)? I'm trying to remember myself how to do it

Aw lawdy... LOL I have logged with this pc many many times.. So it is not like it is new to the PC... I have the line hooked up, the truck up to operating temp, running, i then hit connect.. It connects, as the green light is off, the red one is now one, when the curser is ran over it, it says click to disconnect.. So it is def hooked up.. However just like the attached pic I posted is what happens. I can not do anything.. Log, record, validate ****, nothing..

OK laptop up with EFI open. Plugged in the cable to the laptop. Turned key to run but didn't start it. Pugged in OBDII, hit connect and everything worked. I had to re-plug in the cord to the OBDII port twice to get it to read the PCM. Said it couldn't connect the first 2X.

Does your little box say "USB Mode"?
