Default EFILive V7.4.2 Public Release

April 20., 2007
EFILive V7.4.2 has been officially and publicly released.

This version will be the current stable release for the foreseeable future.

http://www.efilive.com/download.aspx

New and Improved Tuning Tool Features in V7.4

New Vehicle Support
Added CAN based LBZ reading and flashing support.

Added CAN based LMM reading and flashing support.

Added CAN based, LS2 (E40) logging, reading and flashing.

Added CAN based, LS2 (E38) reading. (Logging and flashing will be added in a subsequent release).

Added VPW based LS1 Hybrid (5.3L / Electric) reading and flashing support.

4 and 5 speed automatic transmission controller (T42) calibrations have been added.

Enhanced Controller Programming
A number of significant improvements have been made to the stability and performance of the read, lock and flash bootloaders.

Fixed potential failure of E40 full flash with updated bootloader.

FlashScan interface type and controller protocols are checked prior to reading or flashing a controller to make sure the correct interface is in use for the attached controller.

Fixed the fault that caused EFILive to erase the serial number during a full flash.

When EFILive full flashes a controller with a blank serial number, it will now generate a pseudo random serial number and program it back into the controller. That allows subsequent calibration only reflash operations to correctly license the controller.

Better Script File Support
Script files can now be created automatically based on the differences between two files.

Added option to copy values from one calibration to another via script files. The changes to script file processing are significant. Please read the Sample Script.txt file in the User Configuration\Scripts folder for a description of the changes.

User Interface improvements
The 3D rotation button now animates the pre-set rotations.

Fixed range error when unlock key was greater than 65535.

Added the "follow" option to bins folder. The last bin folder accessed can now be remembered. The option is selected by double clicking the Bins entry, in the Folders tab page of the Scan Tool Properties window.

Added controller pictures. Selecting different controllers in the Read, Flash or Lock windows will display a picture of the selected controller.

Gen-IV VE tables are now displayed in the same units as Gen-III VE tables (i.e. Grams*Kelvin/kPa and optionally %VE).

Updated speed->gear-rpm conversion display in status bar to include 6 gears.

RoadRunner - Real Time Tuning
Added 97/98 support for RoadRunner devices.

Fixed RoadRunner connection to allow COM ports greater than COM9. The same update also allows AutoTap cables to be connected on com ports greater than COM9.

RTACS - Real Time Automated Calibration System

Added RTACS - Real Time Automated Calibration System.

Fixed single column tables (i.e. 2D tables) so that they track the scan tool data correctly. RTACS updates can now be configured to update single column tables.

Optimized the EFILive_Tune.exe to minimize (as much as possible) CPU usage during RTACS operation. Part of the optimization is implemented as an update frequency value in the Edit->Properties window on the [RoadRunner] tab page. The "Update frequency" value represents the number of RTACS cell updates that will occur before the screen is refreshed. Smaller values will cause higher CPU loads, larger values will cause lower CPU loads.

Added user defined RTACS min/max constraints. These values are displayed under the normal min/max values and each time a *.tun file is loaded they default to the min./max values in the map - if you want them to be different that that you need to manually change them each time the calibration is opened. Future versions of the software will allow the RTACS min/max values to be saved and restored.

Protected cells are displayed in a used defined color. Protected cells' values cannot be changed either manually or by RTACS.

You can now specify the desired accuracy for all cells in a calibration. When a cell reaches it's target accuracy, it is frozen and will not change again. Frozen cells can be unfrozen by changing the target cell percentage accuracy.

New and Improved Scan Tool Features in V7.4

New Vehicle Support
Added LBZ Duramax scanning support.

Added LMM Duramax scanning support.

DMA PIDs
Added DMA PIDs for new vehicle platforms.

Prevented unsupported DMA PIDs from being used in BB logging. This also fixes the "RPM not logging correctly" problem.

User Interface
Fixed PID validation for vehicles with separate engine and trans controllers.

The controller type must now be specified when connecting the Scan Tool to a vehicle.

Added default PID selections and dashboards for LS2 and LBZ/LMM.

FlashScan Firmware Updates in 2.4.55

Fixed license upgrade problem where random junk may be added as VIN licenses during the upgrade process.

Fixed problem that caused non-communication issues with CAN controllers if FlashScan was powered up when no valid CAN network existed (i.e. if it was connected to the PC first, then the vehicle).

Added option to upgrade from "V2 Scan Only" to "V2 Scan and Tune" in the EFILive software and FlashScan Firmware (V2.04.39).

Added option to bypass V1->V2 upgrade requirements in FlashScan Firmware (V2.04.40).

Changes included in Update 02

Fixed issue where last remaining free license slot was not being recognized by EFILive.

Fixed tire size data entry problems in the speed calculator.

Fixed Wheel revolutions per km conversion in speedo calculator.

Changes included in V7.4.2

RTACS display has been moved to a tab page alongside the calibration description.

Speedo calibration H0101's range limit checking has been improved.

Speedo calculator window is now automatically closed when the speedo calibration window is closed.

Fixed Scan-Tune PID link units mismatch (inHg v's PSI).

Added calibration definitions for new LS1 operating systems.

Added and corrected LBZ DMA PIDs.

Fixed scaling of some ETC PIDs.

Added ETC PIDs GM.TPMIN1, GM.TPMIN2, GM.TADC and GM.TPMAX.

The Bench Harness Tutorial has been updated to include FlashScan V1, FlashScan V2 and all supported controllers.

Fixed the License Manager window (Help->Register FlashScan...) so that it now correctly accepts multiple, comma-seperated RR serial numbers. Up to 15 RR serial numbers may be registered to a single FlashScan serial number.

H0101 pulses per mile: min=100, max=90% of controller's maximum limit.
H0102 teeth on speedometer pickup: min=10, max=50.
H0103 diff ratio: min=1.00, max=5.00.
H0104 trans output shaft revs per mile: min=500, max5000.

Separate Win98 and Win2K/WinXP USB FlashScan drivers have now been included in the EFILive distribution.

Separate Win98 and Win2K/WinXP USB RoadRunner drivers have now been included in the EFILive distribution.

FTDI's FTClean utility has now been included in the EFILive distribution. The FTClean utility can be used to remove all (or selected) FlashScan and RoadRunner USB drivers from your computer.

Can I have a free RoadRunner unit?

Is it recommended that we upgrade to the new software if we don't need any of the new functionality?

It isn't mandatory, but there are always a few things here and there added in.

You're using a V1, correct? What version & build are you presently running?
