Default electrical problem

Hello,

I am having an electrical problem on my 94 silverado ext cab swb 5.7 which is bagged. When the truck is all the way down, frame touching the rear end, the truck idles and runs great. I can air up the front up and down with no issues, but as soon as i air up the back and the frame is no longer in contact with the rear end the truck spits and sputters and all electoronics go haywire, radio, gauges, lights, etc. I'm pretty sure i have a bad ground somewhere (probably due to the wiring of the compressors or valves for the air suspension.) But i'm not sure. I was wondering if someone had any info about where the main grounds to the frame are, because it seems to me the truck is somehow getting a ground through the rear end?? Thanks in advance.

Also I have applied a wire from the rear end to the frame and when the truck airs up in the rear and frame no longer is touching the rear end the truck runs fine for a min or 2 the the wire gets so hot it burns up and looses ground and truck goes haywire again.

It sounds like you have the negative cable from the battery going to the engine block as the only ground. There at least needs to be a heavy ground strap from the engine to the cab, and another from the engine to the frame. Or from the battery negative to the frame. I don't know the exact locations on your vehicle, but I thought that telling you the minimum requirements might still be helpful.
