Engine swap, how's my tune look? (HPT)
Friday, Sept 5th will be the start date of the 2004 4.3L V6 to 96-99 L31 350 swap.
What I did for a base tune was cut & paste the engine control parameters of a 2002 G-Van 0411 PCM 5.7L tune and applied it to my 2004 LS based PCM tune to my current 4.3L.
I did tweak a few things, like the timing tables and knock sensor sensitivity to handle the geardrive & roller rockers.
But will I need to change anything else in the base tune to accommodate the 10.2-1 compression & LT4 Hot cam? Once the engine is in and running I do intend to dial in the MAF & VE tables.
Any ideas / input is appreciated.
Cheers ~Mykk

So you are gonna be running an L31 right? And you are doin the 0411 PCM swap also?
Thats a pretty darn good amount of timing for that motor with that compression at WOT
You will also need to alter your base running airflow table and several other idle airflow tables to get good drivability and a nice idle with the LT4 hot cam.
