Default F terminal code???

What causes the F terminal code???

I upload a 2001 file to a 2000 silverado to eliminate the secondary VE, but the code F terminal pops up and the light of the battery flashes on the dashboard.

You didn't mention what tuning software you are using. Go to the Matrix platform and delete the Alt "F" and "L" settings.

Open your tune. Go to system, them the light blue tab> System Options. You will see that the Alt L and Alt F boxes have a 1 in them. Change that to a 0.

Because the charging circuits are different on the 99-00 Vs. the 01-02 operating systems.

99-00 only uses the L terminal for the charging circuit

01-02 Uses both the L terminal and the F terminal

I believe you have to turn off/ Disable the F terminal in the tune under the platform options and then turn the P1638 in the engine diagnostics from Non Emissions to Not reported under DTC process enablers or what ever HP tuners calls it, This might Fix your issue.
