Fail MAF to tune VE = harsh shifts?
2000 Silvy 2500 with LQ4 and 4L80E. When I fail the MAF to tune my VE, the trans goes into full pressure protection mode with harsh shifts etc. Is there any way to avoid this with hptuners?
I tried setting the MAF code to "no error reported", and that cured the trans issue, but it seemed like it was still referencing the MAF as the trims were way out of wack and I couldn't get them to dial in. Changing the error code to "no MIL" fixed my weird trim issue and made the trims responsive to VE changes, but brought back the rough shifting.
Any help?

Go to Trans Diagnostics
You will See MAX LINE PRESSURE DTC
Put the P0101,P0102 and P0103 tabs to Disabled.
This is Enabled on 99-00 Model trucks from the factory
To fail the MAF go to Engine Diagnostics>Airflow
Enter 0 on the MAF Sensor fail high tab
Set P0103 to MIL on 1st error and stare at the light while you work on your VE table OR set to NO MIL.
Do not set to no error reported
Check your codes, you should be throwing a p0103 code which means the MAF has failed
