Default Gen III Flex fuel

I just wanted to show what i have been working on for a few weeks now. This is a 1999 FLEX FUEL silverado. Using a 0411 pcm and a flex fuel content sensor. Pretty simple of an installation, just wanted to show that it can be done! Wirings still messy but it will get cleaned up, i just wanted to protect it a little better before i get better wire wrap.

Sensor and pigtail

Wired in and going!

Overall it is awesome being able to go to any gas station and put in any mix, as before i was just on 85 so i struggled with the mixtures.

Does that sensor give you temperature and contamination detection as well?

I would be a little worried about that hose touching the firewall, if the engine moves enough you'll have fuel everywhere.

It barely touches but yea the angle is not the best haha ill change it later, but yea it give both signals through the one wire.

Can you post some more details on this?? Like what pin the PCM uses for the sensor? I have another one of those sensors as well as the old type of sensor. I'm wanting to do this on my 01 turbo truck but EFILive doesn't have a COS 2 bar for the only flex fuel OS I found for the 99-02 ECM's. Does HPT? I do have HPT, so could convert over. Would really like to convert this truck to FF like I did my Cruze.

Can you post the tune file your using if you don't mind?

This is what I did too. I mounted mine down in the return closer to the tank. I should have made it closer to the engine. I did a write up, but never finished it to post it. It is a very nice mod for our trucks if you want to run flex fuel with a power adder.

I've been talking **** for two years about doing this to my truck but haven't taken the time to get it done. I would need a 3 bar OS like KB so that is shitty news.

I"m interested in how you wired it and what pins need to be used.

Yours is an 03 though with the 1mg pcm. There are FF COS's for those. There is only one FF OS for the 99-02 512mb PCM's that I know of and apparently there is no COS or 3 bar for that OS, EFILive or HPT.

But I am still interested in how you wired it up. Hell, I might just do it with a 1 bar scaled MAF tune if I have too.
