Gmt400 dbw
Hi All,
has anyone ever hooked up a DBW setup in a GMT400?
I have a 98 k1500 (4x4) Suburban with the 5.7 L31, 80e, Mercruiser intake, Whipple SC and 0411.
It all works well….but I’d really like to change it to DBW for ease of TB mounting location.
has anyone done this before?
if so…any tips?
Thanks very much

You'd have to completely rewire the whole truck. Swap to a P01 or P59 controller, buy the correct TAC module and pedal assembly to work with the operating system you choose in the computer and then tune the whole thing from scratch. Very few P01 computers used drive by wire, mainly corvettes and later 2001-2002 GMC trucks/suburbans and silverado's with that advanced traction control. I wouldn't use a corvette operating system in a truck application either. So a P59 swap would be better.
But all in all I wouldn't swap to DBW but that is my opinion. Too much work for all that.

it all works fine…but I want to alter the location of the TB when I install water to air intercooler on top of a new intake manifold. Wiring would be a LOT neater and easier to change position than cables.
I appreciate everyone’s thoughts/comments…thanks

Just realized I have a brand new P59 here in the box...so would probably be more worth my while to just swap that in...in place of the 0411.
