im sure everyone in this forum knows about the governor on the chevy silverados 1500, once u hit 100mph it kicks back, my girlfriends dad told me there is a way to take it off without buying a programmer, he said go on a high as bridge and when your going down the bridge floor it and then let it roll to 100 mph, then floor it again let it kick back, then let it roll again to 100 mph and he said it will eventually break off or some ****, any comments folks?????? thx

The only way I could see breaking off a governor is if it was carburated, which was done away by the factory about 20 years ago.

I think with the '05's being flybywire, it actually just backs off the throttle. Weird, even if I floor it in neutral it dont bounce off the rev limiter like my camaro. It kinda runs out of steam around 5k. Really smooth. I think fbw is the new torque management.
