Default HID Daytime running light problem

hey guys, i've got a set of 8K HID's on my 09 silverado. About a month ago my daytime running lights cut out and won't work but they still turn on automatically for night time. the kit that i had put on has been giving me some problems lately and i've had to replace both ballasts, but they were running fine for months until this. so my question is.. is it my HID wiring freaking out or just the daytime running lights fuse?? any info would help.

From what I understand it's not a good idea to have DRL' s and HID's (low voltage to DRL's will kill the HID bulbs). I pulled both DRL fuses on my truck

Yes, you want to remove the DRL fuses. If the kit you got doesn't have high end power protection circuitry, it will perpetually try to start the arc while the truck is feeding it the 7-8 volts of power for the DRL function. This in turn will rapidly decrease the operating life (~500hrs for most chinese made ballasts).
