Default How do you do a Crank Relearn w/ HPT?

I would like to know how to do a crank relearn with hptuners if anyone knows. I have heard that i can do it, but may have heard wrong. If anyone can help me out on it. I would imagine it would be in the scanner, but i need to let a buddy know if i can do it for him. Also, do i have to have the subscription to the vehicle to do it?

AFAIK you don't. You either have to take it to the dealer or fix it with a Tech II.

Are you sure about that? EFI Live's crank relearn process is simple. I always just assumed that HPTuners would have that ability as well.

Not sure at all. Used to be you had to go to the dealer. But that is a couple of iterations of software ago, so could be easy. Should be able to get the answer quickly at the HPTuners forums.

I was just talking to a buddy that helps me out with all my HPT stuff. He said in the scanner under vcm controls, then the special tab, it's in the lower left hand corner, CASE LEARN. I bet that is it, guaranteed. If it isn't that would be a shock to me.

alright good to know now. So you just rev up the truck to like 4000K or something, and hold for a few seconds and the light goes off?

Yep you sure can, Case learn is what you are looking for. I have done it a couple times as well. Simple and fairly quick.
