Buying a 3rd party pcm... What are you talking about?
I can do a COS on my truck easily, and can do segment swaps on my own without any help from EFIlive. I don't have to wait for the company to swap it for me.

I think EFI Live V1 would be a bad choice for you man. Just do you homework. Read all of the old posts. I personally like HP Tuners. Hasn't failed me yet. The people on the forum get my questions answered fast. No matter how dumb the questions are. Ask Bill. LOL!!! Seriously. Let me know if you have any questions.

Real time tuning, can efilive do it using the stock pcm?

BTW, i say just cough up the money and go to V2 Efi Live, IMO it is well worth it. the Serial logging alone is nice, not to mention stand alone data logging, with a display that shows all your PIDs without a laptop. they already have stand alone reading done, they are in beta testing for stand alone flashing!
Check out some screen shots for the Black Box Logging setup screens
Also can HPtuners do Custom PIDs like EFI Live, for example:

He asked where he could get EFILive and how much, not what else he could tune besides his truck... Don't think he has much interest in tuning 4 cylinder cars...But for you brothers 08, you would need a V2 as V1 is only compatible up the 07 PCM's
We've done roughly 500 segment swaps for our customers, turn around times are usually within 24hours...let me know when efilive offers RTT with their LS1 custom operating systems without buying a 3rd party pcm 
Both are good systems but the V1 is very limited, KY should at least let him know of the support limitations he's getting into if he does choose that route.
