Default HP tuners: remove torque management= **** out transmission???

I've road in a few of these newer gm trucks (LS-based) and noticed they fall on their face in between gears, and don't seem to burn the tires very easily. a buddy of mine is big on tuning vehicles (any computerized GM, basically) and went on about removing, or "modifying" how much the torque management has to do with the performance of the truck or car for that matter.

basically he said removing it totally will net a night and day difference in a truck, but you basically run the risk of shitting out the tranny in no time.

any of you guys running a stock tranny with a modification or removal of torque management in the tune; and what are the resulting consequences? a few more black marks on the pavement? or a new tranny?

yep, im 100% removed. IMO it shifts a hell of a lot nicer than if you leave some in. ive got 6 on mine with no problems. these trannys arent the best, but that shouldnt kill it.

I also took all my TM out. Truck now has 80K miles and no tranny problems. I would highly recommend that you also do the vette servo. I did, and it was the second best mod (first was the Radix). The firmer (yet not jarring) shifts will make the truck much more pleasant to drive, and will make the tranny last longer too.

i had 100% tm removed in my tune about a week or two ago. my trans is bone stock. shifts are cleaned up and crisp, but isnt like being punched in the forehead under normal driving. it drops into gear very nice with a lurch foreward at WOT.

The girlfriend's 04 tahoe has had all TM removed from it for about 15k miles now with no issues.

I've had TM removed from my Radix'd SS for about 15K, but it also has a shift kit and servo.

Torque management has about as much use to me as dirt on a black truck. It just doesn't belong. If you get the trans programming right it shouldn't be an issue. If you really don't trust it, add a shift kit.

No TM here either...been over a year and a half and so far so good. Trans is stock aside from whatever tuning Bryan at PCMforLess did to it.

Can TM be removed with a Diablosport Predator...there's something about that in there and I was afraid to mess with it.
