Holy **** now that's a lot of knock. Send me a copy of your tune and your log. I want to take a look at it. Joshluther@myeastern.com

holy knock batman! holty did this just come out of no where? make a recent mechanical change? and have you tried the race gas suggestion yet? with that much knock (real or not) I would do a scan with 100 octane in there and compare before you get to crazy with changes to your tune. Especially if you didn't change anything in the first place. You could create more problems for yourself making changes.

FWW that much knock and it's not audible...it's obviously fake...not real BUT it has to be something causing the computer to see that kind of knock. Loose exhaust, clackity belt tensioner...you don't hear anything?

joshluther and wilde racing, email has been sent! thanks guys for helping me out, i really appreciaite it.

dewmanshu, been getting that much KR ever since Brian at PCMforless sent me his "Radix tune". I don't "get on it" too often so i don't here any knock. When i do "get on it" i here very very little if any knocking at all. I run 94 octane 100% of the time. I don't have access to any race fuel so that is going to be very hard to do. The closest place i know of to buy race gas is a hour a way. It might be false knock, i can't say for sure as i don't know enough about tuning to tell the difference, but i do know everything is tight and nothing making any noise out of the ordinary.

Thanks guys for replying with suggestions, i really apprciate the eagerness of you guys willing to help me out.

REALLY? What does Brian have to say about it?

What are your knock sensor levels at? (not suggesting to change them) just curious if he cookie cuttered your tune but forgot to change back some edits he might have done in those errors. Hear good things about him, not trying to dis him.

engine>spark control>knock sensor>any of the tip ins

I am no tuner and wouldn't suggest any changes without expressing my inexperience, but I'd love to see your tune too if you wouldn't mind.

Answer these questions

1)Is the kr real? Put in 110 if it goes away it is real.

2) what is causing the kr? If its real than its not enough fuel and/or too much spark
If its not real than it can be caused by mechanical noise or it can be pre-emptive burst kr or tip in kr.

If you know the answer to those 2 questions then you know how to fix the problem.

FYI: It is not easy to set off the kr sensors by mechanics, the sensor is tuned to one frequency inside the block. 99 out of 100 its not mechanical noise!!!!!!

i'll see what i can do to answer those questions this weekend. i don't have access to any 110 octane, or any other race gas for that matter.

i'll see if a friend will "loan" me some for testing. i'll post back with my results.

When magna finally sent me a new belt tensioner (the stop on it was broke off for some reason) I got rid of my mysterious low rpm tip in kr. I know its not usually mechanical noise, but if you eliminate fueling...then where else do you go? And his kr is freaking unreal looking. That massive of kr should be audible. holty just throw some boost from the auto parts store in there if you can't find the ggod stuff. It should raise your octane enough to give you a clue.

holty just glancing at your tune (again...keep in mind of my disclaimer) and comparing it to mine...I have a **** load more fuel in your trouble areas in my ve table. Watching your scan your lt's are positive...asking for more fuel, but not so bad in the higher MAP areas. Seems as you go warm your lt's get a little higher though, not sure about that.

Your huge kr amounts come when you nail it. Take a look at your engine>fuel control>power enrich>Enrichment rate. Change that bastard to 1. GM is setting us up for death if you mod your truck too much and that enrichment is keeping the ramp so slow. Especially with that 2.8 pulley. Just my opinion! No matter if the kr is real or not, I'd make the enrichment rate 1.
