Steps to using a Hypertech:
1. Place item on ebay
2. Use money to pay for a custom tune
3.

dont listen to these guys, you just purchased yourself a very fine piece of hot-roding equipment.

now your next step is to swap out that 5.3 for a 4.8. good thing your truck didnt come with a 6.0 there a real pig for sure.

^^^HAHA

They are pretty much, for the lack of the word, useless. I dont mean to hurt your feelings but a custom tune(such as some of the vendors advertising on here) would put the HTPP to shame. Take TX Tahoe's advice and ship it out and get you a custom tune for "YOUR" truck, bc every truck is different.

If you just bought it ....take it back and get a refund....then get a custom tune. for about the same price.

Default hypertech problems

i'm not too happy with my hypertech programmer either. i got it as a xmas present and when i tried tuning it to my 03 silverado it dropped the rpms down to like 300 when i threw it in gear but ran fine when put back to stock. i called hypertech and they said could be a dirty throttle body but i dont think that would be the issue. btw my truck is a 2003 chevy silverado z71 5.3 with gibson shorty headers, true dual exhaust with thrush mufflers, and a banks ram air in it. anybody ever have that **** happen to them?
