Question I have an unknown electrical gremlins

So i bought a project truck a while back and i got it running put in a new fuel pump new water pump did all the basic stuff to it however theirs been some electrical gremlins I've been ignoring and I've decided its time to fix it.The problems are the headlights don't work the tail lights are dimmer than hell and the battery holds a charge for about 4 hours im not looking for the direct answer i would just like a solid place to start looking for the problems.

-Thank you from alaska

First, you need a solid battery.

Check all your power and ground connections.
Check under fuse box plugs for loose connections.
You also need to find out why the headlights don't work. Is the wiring bad, is the switch bad???
