Default I want voltage!

So I had a 200amp alternator that burned up. I've been running a 160 for 6 months and it finally went bad, though it never worked good from day 1. Im pulling 60amp in just compressors. Not to mention lights and stereo. Anyone have suggestions on a good new alternator?

Did you had a second battery? I have been running a 250 amp alt from flea bay for 3 years, same time with an Optima yellow top in front, had 2 kinetic 2800 in the back but lasted just over a year when the warranty expires. Then replace them with a Stinger SPP2250 , all this for audio.

Like 08cheyennesc said, you've got to upgrade the batteries, when you go to a setup like yours.

The batteries(multiple would be required for a setup like you described) should be able to handle the workload being asked of them. It is the alternator's job to charge the batteries, not power the electrical system in your vehicle. Once it has been set up properly, you'll stop having problems like this.

I had a 250a alt for about a year and had nothing but problems with it. I would get the high output 160a stock alt and run dual yellow or red tops.

Have you done the big 3 upgrade? That would help.

Not really,a battery made for audio is way better unless all you will be using is a 200 watt amp then a cap will be ok.
