Iat's 131

Besides the actual air temperature, especially in downtown Houston with all the concrete and buildings blocking off every bit of breathable air, everything is heat soaked. Hell, its 10 – 11:00 at night before things actually start cooling off enough downtown to feel comfortable and the air you’re picking up through the fender-well is coming up off the frying pan …..Er….street.

Cleaning it made the iats go down
I havent checked this thread lately, but when I cleaned the sensor it dropped started reading back down close to ambient air temp. The reason I knew the sensor was screwing up is because I pulled the stock air box up out of the engine bay with the motor running, hood up, so it was sucking cool (95 degree,) outside air the sensor was reading 135-140 at this point. After cleaning the mass air with the temp sensor inside, and performing the same procedure, 5 minutes after the last readingit was showing around ambient air intake temps. While cruising, it was getting up to 105-110, I am not disputing that its freaking hot and there is heat soak involved. One thing that came to mind is how many of these trucks use K&N's or another wet type of filter, I think the oil may have contaminated the sensor as I did not wait more than an hour after spraying the filter to drive last time I cleaned it. Just a thought. And as for before, it just is what it is, not sure why but mine was reading about 20-30 degrees higher than it is now.

Glad you got it fixed. I was logging Friday going through downtown Houston, stop and go on I10. IAT was sitting around 143 with outside temp around 100, on the Interstate cruising in 100 degree air IAT dropped to around 125.

I am also, im not really sure what the deal is with my truck, i will hook the hp tuners back up and make sure that its not reading in the 140's again, it could have been a freak deal last time i logged the truck...
