IAT's

the stock IAT sensor is very slow. NA you should run somewhere in the neighborhood of around 5* over ambient from my logs. A heatsoaked intake will have to cool down as well. Before I start tuning, I usually drive several miles to cool them down a bit.
I run at around 10 degrees over ambient at a cruise. Not bad for a turbo in Texas, but WOT it has a bad climb..

i did this and just as the write up says it works beautiful. my iat's are almost the same temp as it is outside. i know its a few extra bucks but it was worth it to me to have the iat's straighten out in like 30secs instead of 30 mins.

you can buy a msd IAT sensore for like 20 bucks on summit. msd 23-20 or somwething IIRC. I would keep the sensor in the air tract. A fast acting sensor like the msd will serve you better than false readings by the air filter. Dont just look for low IAT, just look for accurate true representations of them. Heres a thread on this sam matter right now on efilive forum.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I have a pretty basic setup. 2006 regency. 5.3 tuned, LT's, AEM CAI, E-3 Plugs, MSD wires, TB converter. The other day I was cruising around town with the temperature outside being around 70 degrees. My IAT's were between 111-118. Does this sound right?

was the truck ran but parked for a few minutes-hour before reading the IAT's..what I mean is that does sound way high UNLESS it was hot from heatsoak after stopping for a while. I see 100* IAT's just cruising around the city.
