This just my opinion... I know you have aftermarket heads so i am assuming that your heads cam with the bigger springs (probably dual springs like mine)... If so those springs are kinda noisy... That noise can inturn be interpreted as KR if your knock sensor settings are super sensitive, which in your case they are... Combine all that with your lack of exhaust and stock cam which are all contributing to some of your problems. Look at B6245, notice that table looks like the VE table (RPM vs MAP).... The lower the value in that table the more sensitive the settings are.... Compare the two attachments (Stock_6L_KnockSettings.jpg and Stock_48L_KnockSettings.jpg), notice how the stock 4.8 (which are the exact same for a 5.3 too) are alot less sensitive than a 6.0 tune in the upper MAP areas... Now look at the attachement name KR_MAP.jpg, this is a map from the log you posted, notice where you are getting KR and compare that to the super sensitive KR settings in B6245 in your tune. If you take a look at the tune i attached and notice the things i changed (goto history tab when you first open the tune) and compare the changes.... Load it up and go log, and see what that does for you....

I increased your PE commanded values, you were commanding 11.29 and i decreased your VE table by 10% (looking at your log you didn't need to increase it that much, the tutorial is little extreme), those are probably the reasons why your you were getting 110%+ IDC...

BTW if i ran your knock sensor settings my truck would knock like a ****!!!

Great post Corey. I guess that would explain why I'm not hearing any knock!

Why in the heck though are the settings so sensitive from the factory though?

Also, do you have any idea why I'm getting like half of my commanded timing? I tried looking at many of the modifying tables and couldn't find anything.

the springs and the hardened pushrods may be affecting it.

What would you say about lowering the sensitivity down to the stock 4.8/5.3 values?

look at the tune i attached, i modified your knock sensor settings to inbetween your stock values and stock 4.8/5.3 values... Like i said, load up the tune i attached and report back.

I'll check it out on my way to work later on. I'm checking out knock sensor multiplier A on a 2002 LS1 and it's way more desensitized than the stock 6.0 values. I guess GM was just trying to save it's *** if someone was towing 10,000 lbs up a grade in 100 degree weather.

ya look at that table (b6244) and notice #7 is less sensitve in certain areas than the rest, at least on a truck tune.... I wonder if that is cause of some of the lean #7 conditions people experience when they blow #7....
