knock retard
Have any of you guys had problems with KR with a cammed, fbo truck?
Was looking at a truck that had KR everywhere on a stock timing table. I checked for any rattling of the exhaust but no dice, is it notorious for trucks to pull timing when a noisy am is installed? Never seen anything like it...

Mine false knocked with just a cam/spring swap with the stock timing table. I pulled 5-10 deg of timing from the problem areas, and went from 87 to 91 octane and it still did it. Didn't make the pinging sound either so I was pretty certain it was false. It was only in the 1500-2000 RPM range at low-mid TP.

So you guys do reduce the sensitivity. I worked on two heavy cammed trucks and they were getting ridiculous KR on the stock timing. What timin do you guys usually run on say a 228/228 112 lsa lq4? I was commanding around 24 degrees WOT and i was getting knock, so i brought it down to like 10 and it still registers as knock.
