Knock retard everywhere!!
This is in my 99 truck and a new setup. With the lq9/t56 I had prior I had no problems with KR.I have swapped in a 150,000mi 5.3 new cam bearings ,boost cam,ls7 lifters,ls9 gaskets,7.4pr's. I have also installed a new 4l80e with an hd-2 and a single disc circle-d stall. I am running 93 octane and have a fairly low timing table,I even reduced it by 5 degrees and it will still kr with partial throttle. The trans is acting crazy also the converter wants to lock sitting still and the truck will go dead, also it is like you put it in neutral sometimes at stop sign. Is this the dreaded 99 OS thats giving me fits. I will post the tune when I get home.99 RCSB Gomer tune.hpt

I never had knock issues with the lq9/t56 and I ran the same patriot golds.I will try and get a log tomorrow.I looked back over the tune and found that I still had torque management on the trans. I will delete it and go from there. Merry Christmas!!!

I found out that my old lq9/t56 tune had the knock sensors desensitized so I went back to these settings and viola no KR. Truck runs pretty good for a cam only 5.3...only thing is when I put on the turbo kit I dont want heavily desensitized knock sensors. Should I buy an 02 computer or flash an 02 operating system. I am already gonna have to upgrade to the 2 bar map OS,so what should I do?? Thanks guys and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I suggested that you log burst knock retard, because if that is what is retarding your spark, reducing it has less engine damaging potential than desensitizing the sensors.
A log will show if I am wrong that it is burst knock.
