LM4 swap to LS6 initial tune ??s
I have a '00 Sierra 5.3 2wd auto with stock TC and 373 posi.
I have a LS6 out of a '04 CTSV with a Comp XR265HR-15 cam 212/218 558/563 115 ICL degreed to 111 ICL going in this weekend
CAI, truck intake, TB, MAF and accessories, stock exh man to collector with a 40 series for now.
I can't find any tunes in the repository that have a engine swap. Should I start by changing the general info from 5.3 to 5.7l?
After that I have a good idea where to go, but any suggestions would be great. Been studying HP site and taking notes for 4 or 5 hours. Even downloaded a LS6 tune just to compare to mine. Thanks! -Matt

An LS6 tune isn't really worth much since the cam would dictate the VE table and the intake tract would dictate the MAF table. And you're using neither of those from the LS6.
You'd probably be closer to find a tune from a 6.0 truck with a small cam.
With that said. It's not that hard to just tune the one you have.

Yeah I downloaded a LS6 tune just to look at and compare to mine, but there's alot of things related to the manual trans that make it different. I just wondered if I should start by changing (Engine>General) from 5.3 to 5.7. I've been reading more and I'm pretty sure that's my first step.
I'll probably download a couple 5.7 automatic tunes just to look em over. Busy tearing the engine compartment apart right now. Can I tear out the air injection crap or do I have to re-install that but disable it? thx
p.s. Have HP Tuner

The new engine was not designed to work with the air injection so I think I would try to get by without it. I am not sure what changes would be required to the tune.
Does the 00 PCM already have shortcomings? Have you looked into running an 04 PCM or 03 PCM since you are keeping the return fuel system. I guess you would have to pin it out. I am running a 03 PCM and I think it is a good one, if it could be moved to your truck, without too much trouble. Sorry I don't really know too much about it just kind of thinking out loud.

There are benefits to running a newer PCM, but not it's worth the trouble if you already have an older PCM (IMO).
Changing the engine type doesn't do anything but you must change the cylinder volume.
