Default low coolant temp fault code

I replaced the factory t-stat with a 160* t-stat, I didn't change anything else programer told me I wouldn't have to reprogram just for t-stat. but the check eng. light comes on with a coolant temp lower than factory preset code. called chevy dealership and talked to shop manager he said it should be doing this no reason to reprogram but I clear the code and it comes back on anywhere from 1 day to 4 weeks. any ideas????

the ecu is freaking out because the engine isn't warming up as far as it's concerned. the only way to fix it is to tune it out i believe. i don't think it'll hurt anything the way it is though.

Yep, it's time to retune.

Mine did it a few times after the tune.... I guess it learned itself maybe cause It hasn't in about a year... I haven't adjusted any temps either.

If it is actually operating cooler you'll want to retune anyway so the pcm will stop feeding it more fuel. It is set to run rich until XXX temps and if it isn't reaching that temp it'll keep running rich.
