Tuning software/hardware will eventually be the best spent $ on your vehicle...it grows with you rather then you growing out of it like many "go-fast" mods do.

Hey guys, I live near Katy, looking to do some mods to my truck. I have a 2004 Reg Cab short bed with 4.8 v8 and 5 speed manual trans. white paint, W/T package truck, no carpet or cruise, power nothing except brakes, plain jane but has AC. It's pretty lightweight.

I am wanting to know what the options are for custom tuning myself, as I already have a PC in my truck, with a 14" fold down LCD monitor and all, would be nice to have it hooked up to my truck while I am driving! could have something to do besides watch TV/movies and listen to mp3's on it, surf the web etc, could be tuning my truck!

Maybe we should get together sometime. Hell I may even know you guys from somewhere, used to hang out in Katy all the time back in late 90's.

who knows man, i just graduated from cinco. PM me if you want my last name to see if you know me. i have that nagging lady who raised me in the back of my head saying dont post your last name in a public forum....it would be pretty sweet to cruise, log data and tune....

yep, this is true for new vehicls.

I used ls1-edit for long time, starting from 2000 till today, the cars that I tuned was betting the HP tuner cars.
my latest tuned car is 98 z28 camaro with only MAF mod, and it can get over 300 km/h very easy (sorry for the new Corvette owners).
I sow the HP Tuner once I didn't like it (maybe it was me only).
and yes I agree with that it's more user friendly than LS1-EDIT.
