Default maf????

I have a 4.3L GMC sierra and i was wanting to know it a 5.3L maf with make any hp gains or will it hurt the truck?????

If they are the same style MAF, there is no difference between the ones used on a 4.8L, 5.3L, or 6.0L trucks.

I thought if there was difference in them, they would read different/be bigger. I know the A.I.T in built in to the M.A.F and if it was bigger or read a different reading it would add hp or hurt the HP.

no... cuz it won't be calibrated correctly for the engine in your truck... stock MAF's are good for 550+ hp anyway, no need to change it on that truck...

I'm thinking that they're rated for a little more power than that. Maybe I'm wrong, and I know it's argued. Typical options on the LS trucks would be Granatelli (piece of paperweight ****), SD tune, card-style (which I run with no problems), etc., if you weren't using the stock MAF.
