Default May be stupid....can you lose your tune?

I got a nelson tune about a month ago. It was freakin awesome when i got it. Truck finally came alive. I could floor the gas and the tires would let loose at about 4000 in 1st gear. I read how everyone says it gets better.....mine hasnt. It actually feels slower then when i 1st put the comp in. Dont get me wrong, it's still faster then stock, but the tires dont let loose high end of 1st anymore. I realize the weather is getting warmer, but even on a cold night it just doesnt seem to have it. Is is all in my head? Think i just got used to the tune? Like i said.....this is potentially a very stupid thing for me to think that the tune has "turned" iself down. Any Ideas/comments?

A tune is a tune, no way it goes away, could be a mechanical thing. The first time you drove it you could have been on a different type of street, may have been smoother, lol.

Have you been to the dealer for service? Could they have 'flashed' your pcm?

These trucks seem to have a mind of their own sometimes. But i think your just getting used to the extra hp and like gmforlife said you were probaly on a slick road.

i know a tune is strong once you install it but i also read that theres a relearn process it goes through i am not foresure but in the relearn process it learns the driving of the driver.. dunno if this has anything to do with your situation but hope it helps ..

yes if you drive it hard on a STOCK pcm i will go into abuse mode sometimes but it should have been disabled when you got the tune from nelson

If the tune has a lot of High Octane timing and a big spread to the low octane table and you see lots of KR, knock learn will kick in and revert you to the low octane table. Depending on the tables it can be a BIG swing in power.

allen may not have turned off all of the torque management and like said above it will go into abuse mode unless its disabled. So unless you told him to he didnt.

shouldn't the high octane table be copied into the low octane table? That's the way mine is set up. But yes that is an idea, if you ran different gas or something made it go into the low octane table.

You should do that only if you have timing set at MBT (as found on a dyno) and can be certain that you'll never get a bad tank of gas. It is suggested to copy the high to low when running in speed density and not using a custom operating system (that retains dual spark tables), only because of the fact that when the MAF is "disabled" with the stock OS, the high octane table will not be utilized.
