Default need help with 97 chevy tuning for carbed motor please!!!

I want to install a carburated 406 small block into a 97 chevy pickup, my delema is the truck is registered in New York and we have an emissions test where the truck is hooked up to a special inspection computer from the state that checks the engine peramaters to see if its up to emissions standards and also the vin number from the reg. sticker is scanned into the computer, so I cant just get the old lick and stick deal even though I know the owner of the shop well. On my 00 trans am I had the car tuned with ls1 edit and all the emissions controls were turned off and it passed the inspection no problem, so i was wondering if I can have the same thing done with this truck even though the computer will not be controlling any fuel trims or timing curves. basicly i only want the computer in there to get me through the inspection, and maybe control the transmission shifting.
Thanks for your help!!!

Well....if they do a visual under the hood...you ain't going to pass. Plus, if you go to big on the cam, you ain't going to pass either. Lot of people build 383s that pass but they keep the stock injection or upgrade to MPFI and keep the cam to about 218* and below. Carbs will have a hard time passing but as long as its tuned right and just has to pass the sniffer...your good. But they plug into your ALDL...you won't b/c none on the engine functions will go back to the computer b/c its carb and you dont need the 02 sensors, crank/cam sensor, etc.

im not worried about any visual inspection, and we dont have a sniffer test. Bacicly I need the computer flashed so it can "trick" the inspection computer into thinking all emmisions perameters are good

going to be hard esp when you don't have 02s to hook up and the crank and cam sensor won't be working. For 02s, you could hook up sims or flash them off.

You'll need your computer to control your gauges and transmission assuming your keeping the stock 4l60e.

Is it possible to just have the computer control the transmission? can the rest of what the computer controls be turned off and not have a ses light or throw any codes for any emmisions related problems?

Im sure you could disable any SE lights having to do with the engine but the thing is you have readiness tests that have to be met those wont ever set if its not there and they dont set SE lights either I dont see you passing.
