New rear end gear tuning, and 4l80E
Ok, I am going to have 4.11's and a trutrac installed hopefully in the next few days.. I am also(as money permits) putting in a 4l80E..
From what I understand, on HP tuners it is rally just replacing the engine codes(ses light infos) and the transmission tables from a 4l80E tune over the 4l60E codes/tune file data.. Correct?
As for the 4.11's and the locker.. Will I have to change anything in the tune for the locker? How do I adjust it for the gear size on HP tuners? I just want to have the PCM's transmission/rear end settings correct enough to break in the tranny and rear end gears properly. I will be having it tuned later on a dyno but that is still months away.
I do own HP tuners and it is unlocked from the last tuner still.. I dont do my own tuning, but am competent enough to make basic changes like the tranny tables and (hopefully) the rear end tuning.
Thanks guys I appreciate it! The trucks slowly getting back together lol.

The new rear-end/gear change will be easy. The 4l80e will be a bit harder. You have two choices, segment swap (done by ec tune on the HP Tuners forum) or start with a completely new bin file from a 4l80e equipped truck. It's not as bad as it sounds though as you can copy and paste all your current engine tables on the new "4l80e" bin...

I just played around with it a minute ago and found the gear settings and everything.. not that bad at all. Ill have to play around with my pcm files for the tranny later. I should be dropping off my axle today to have gears and locker installed, then I can finally drive my truck again(although I will be stuck in 1st, 2nd and occasionally 4th lol) at least enough to go buy some gas for her when theres no traffic on the road.
