Default No code yet...do crank relearn anyway?

I just got my nelson tune in the mail. I was thinking about getting a crank relearn done before i even get a code after i install the computer. Local dealer wants $100 to do it . Is that stupid? Do all new computers need it done? Why spend the 100 if i dont need to right...

You do need to do it. Regardless of whether or not the light popped up, the PCM still doesn't know the exact position of the crankshaft. $100 is much too much though. It's a 2 minute process, at best.

Alright I'll have it done. Anyone in the NY area? Can a snap-on scanner do it? or how about any HPT? Can I ask a friend who has HPT for their camaro/firebird to do it on my truck?

HPT is a general software, and whoever you have do it will use the scanner section of it, so they don't need a subscription to the vehicle to do it. Anyone with HPT can do it, i would imagine the older versions can do it too.
