Default No power to diagnostic port!

I was going to do some tuning on my truck yesterday and I have never tried it before on this truck. I go to hook the HP tuners cable to the port and it says no power check the fuse for the port. Well I go over to a Chevy van that we have and hook it up to it and it works fine. So my question is which pin on the ALDL port should I check to see if it has power with the key on?
Thanks

Alright I found that the Cig. lighter fuse was blown. I stick another one in and it blows immediately. So im not sure whats going on. The truck does have a trailer brake controller on it. And im not sure how its wired up.But I will never tow a trailer with it so i'm gonna take all of that stuff off and see if it is wired wrong and causing the problem.

I don't remember exactly, but I do know it's the orange wire on the driver's side of the the port. Mine didn't have any power either after I cut it on accident in the main harness at the firewall. All I did was splice a 12v wire in from the stereo harness into it and it's still working today.

My old truck (05 rst) had the same issue. take out your cig lighter, replace the fuse and see if it blows. if not then you have a short in the cig lighter. if it does then it must be in the wiring.

A very common reason for the fuse to blow in the 1st place is a coin or other object falls into the power port of the cigarette lighter and shorts it out. Most people will find a damn penny lying in the bottom of the socket.

Just something to look for.

Yea I took the cig. lighter out and left it out and took all the trailer brake crap out of it just to make sure. And it has power to the orange wire now. There is nothing in the sockets and I don't smoke so I really don't need it. I will just leave it out.
Thanks
