Default O2 sensor P0131 problem

I was driving home today and the truck started to act up BAD! It would sputter and jerk and run like pure dog **** unless I opened her up a little. Anything above 2800rpm seemed to clear it right up (open loop I assume). I got code P0131: O2S Circuit; Bank 1; Sensor 1; Low Voltage. After a quick search I found a little info on it. Tell me if I'm correct. The Drivers side O2 is having a heart attack and throwing tons of fuel into the system. I actually had a guy at a stoplight tell me he thought I had parts of my tire flying off because there was so much black smoke pouring out the exhaust. I stop for gas, fill up, and then leave and after 30 seconds or so it ran fine again, all the way home (10 miles). When I got home and read the code, I checked the O2 wire and it was laying on the Pacesetter LT/Collector. I am hoping that this contact with the header is what the problem was. Too hot for the wires and screwing up the reading. I hooked up my Predator and that O2 was reading 0mv (zero). So after it cools down I'm gonna zip tie the wires up. You think that’s all it was? Maybe after stopping for gas it cooled the headers down enough to not affect it the rest of the way? Sorry for the novel.

wouldn't doubt that the wire is fried to the extent that you'll get a work soemtimes and not sometimes scenario. Probably should replace it (at the very least the section of questionable wire). But nevertheless, you sound like you sound like you found the problem.

Sounds like you need the Bosch 1311 o2 sensors and AC-Delco PT919 pigtails. Alot of truck guys are having to do this lately. The F-bods have been for for a while. The crappy thing is when I was going through this over a year ago I couldnt find any truck guy that had this issue. At least not online.Do a search for Vette 02 Sensors.

I am having this problem and I just put the Z06 vette sensors on tonight and am waiting to see what happens. Ill let you know if it works. If it does work you can use either of these part numbers. I used the universal.

The OE type is Bosch P/N 13111
The Universal is bosch P/N 15732
