obd II port dead

Default obd II port dead

okay guys. im new but have been reading and lurking for a few months. anyway i have a 99 ecsb and the diagnostic port has gone dead. ive searched through old threads and have already checked the cigarette lighter fuse and it was ok. so if anyone has any other ideas that would be great. thanks guys.

check the dome lamp fuse.... and all other fuses.... then get a repair manual, and check for power at the aldl connector with a volt/ohm meter

also check to see if anything has been installed on the ground and 12volt supply wires behind the aldl connector. Some security system installers use this as a means of power.

Also check that the wires are in the proper locations compared to a factory wiring diagram. I found one that had a wire in the wrong slot causing a communications failure once.

They share a circuit.

Yeah, I can not use the very right cig. lighter and OBD port at the same time or pop goes the fuse.
