Onstar= redlight
On my onstar system one of the lights has turned red. I searched and didn't find a definitive answer to the problem or what might cause this. I read it could be a emissions problem or just a connection to the cell service problem. So my question is have any of you ran across this before when tuning or having you truck or car tuned? I only noticed it after The mods started on the truck. I'm not saying any of the mod's is or isn't causing it just wondering of y'all have ran across it? If it was something from the mods it look as if the SES light would come on.

If the OnStar light has turned red, it means there is a service problem affecting the system's ability to connect to OnStar. Could be anything from a blown/removed fuse to a cell service/connection issue.

I have found 1 forum that says it might be the back up battery. Not sure where it is even located. more research. Look like there would be more info out there on this.

If you have a back up battery it is attached to the negative battery lead. Small box with a plug on it. Contains a 1200mAh NiMH battery pack.
It powers OnStar and keeps the DIC and Radio settings alive if the main battery goes dead.
