Default P0155 and P0135

Truck was pulling these and several other codes, so I swapped in a set of new Denso o2's. Ran fine for about a week, and now every time I start it cold it pulls these two codes. I've checked the fuses under the hood and the connections at the sensors. How likely are they to be bad out of the box? Or is it time to start tracing wires and see if there is a problem somewhere there?

You said numerous other codes, what were all the codes you pulled? It is possible a wire is screwed up or there could be a grounding issue. need to know the other codes if possible. Also, what long tubes are you using?

The codes it was pulling with the old Bosh 02's were P0140, P0141, P0154, P0155. After installing the new Denso 02's the truck ran fine with no codes for about a week, then started having the p0155 and p0135 codes. The headers have been on the truck since I bought it, was told they were Hooker, but they look alot more like ebay obx's to me.

Ok. So Bank 2 sensor 1 and Bank 1 sensor 1 are having the same heater performance issues. Its wierd that both are having the exact same issue. I know both of those sensors share the same pin on your Fuse block under the hood. might want to start there to see if there is a possibility of a short or see if the pins not contacting well. Also, im wondering if the O2s might need some kind of heat shield to protect them from the heat of the headers. I know on my wide band, they recommend manufacturing and using a heat shield to prevent them from getting too warm.

The fact that both are having the same problem at the same time is what's getting me as well. I checked the fuse for them the other day, but I'll have to go back and give the wiring a good look over as well. I'm not sure about the heat issue though, they did fine all summer at 100+ degree days sitting in traffic. I may try and make a heat shield of sorts for them though just to be on the safe side. I almost wonder if I didn't somehow bump something loose when I did my cam swap, because it all started shortly after that.

The heat shields is just kinda a shot in the dark. Just kinda passing the info on that i have seen from reputable manufacturers. i would definitely look at the wiring at the fuse box and chase the wires from the sensor as well for sanity purposes. the ground on the back of the engine block was a problem for me at one point and it seems to break fairly easy so i would check it as well. those two pink wires at the fuse box seem to be the only thing in common, between those two exact sensors, that i can find. Assuming the ECM is good. they possibly could share the same ground but, i figure that would effect other systems as well.

Took a look at the wiring this morning, everything looks to be in good order. Even disconnected the battery and rechecked connections at the ECM. Took the truck back and erased the codes to see if maybe I had fixed it, nope. now in addition to the heater codes its once again pulling the P0140, P0141, P0154 codes. I think I may just admit defeat and bring the truck in to a shop for some diag.

did it come stock with a V8? or was it swapped at some point? Any history on the truck? Dont give up yet! This is the fun part of owning a performance truck. Break it, fix it, break it, fix it.......... rinse and repeat..... It has a DBW TB right?
