Your readings on the Brown and Yellow wires are normal. They power the throttle actuator motor with 12V. The power is cycled on and off at a high frequency. The amount of on time on each wire determines the average voltage, motor direction, speed and position. On the Gen III trucks the throttle motor is powered up at key on, but this is cut after a few seconds if there is no input from the pedal or the engine is not running. These wires are not connected to the X-Link circuitry.

Do you mean TAC (Throttle Actuator Control Module) rather than TCM(Transmission Control Module)?

What year truck does your friend have that everything worked on?

Have you gone through the troubleshooting document?

Does this only happen at key-on?

That's not very clear. What year LS7? 2008 and earlier used the LS2 car TB (silver blade). 2009+ is the same as LS3/LS9 TB(gold blade). Not that it should matter in your case.

Yeah sorry the TAC. I only tried the nick williams he has a 03 (he bought evilgmc truck). He just installed a nw 102 and everything is a ok. I also pluged mine up to his truck no code. I haven't tried the my xlink. But he has the xlink that u have to cut the pink wires. I have went thru the tech doc and it said anything over 5.23v it will throw this 1518 and I gettin 10v also said that it should be a 0v to 5v from closed to open throttle. On those wires ???? Am I just confused ????

P1518 is not related to the 0 - 5V TPS signals which are the green and purple wires, not the yellow and brown

5.23V does not set P1518... a minimum system voltage of 5.23V is required for the P1518 test to run

Does this only occur at key-on?

Interesting that you can restart after clearing it without the code setting. Do you have to restart immediately or will it still start OK if you wait a minute or 2?

It will start as long as I don't turn the key off and on again or I can start it with the code and clear it while it is running then again it fine till I turn the key off and on again

If you clear the code, pull the key out, put the key back in and start the truck will the code set?

yes everytime but if i unplug the xlink and hook up a stock 78mm no code or even if i plug up 87mm with the x link its fine. so it sounds like the 102 is bad but i put the 102 on 3 other trucks and both were fine no code

i know i kept getting a p1518 code after doing a engine rebuild and it was a black ground wire at the back of the motor on the transmission bell housing that wasnt connected.. check and make sure its connected and has a good ground.. you can check it by jumper wiring it to the negative battery cable and it shouldnt do it anymore
