Default partial torque converter lock-up

How do you use Hptuners and turn this off? My tuner doesn't know, and would like to know?

Wheatley told me it was something to do with TPS angle and lockup speeds.

Can someone show me a print screen of theirs or just tell me what to tell him.

Thanks so much.

I'm not sure, but that sounds like a function of TCC Duty Cycle to me. You need to make sure you have those table set to 100 (max) and 90 (min) accross the board.

What kind of problems are you having?

Not having any problems, I was just told by the fella at performabuilt transmissions that you can turn that off through tuning and that it will help increase low speed fuel economy. thats the only reason really.

I would think he is talking about the Duty cycle then. You can make changes to the lock-up speeds and things too, but I don't think that really affects the partial lock-up, only when the TC is commanded to lock or unlock. There are a some changes that can be made to those tables as well to help a little with mpg's, but it is much more complicated and largely personal preferance. I have my TCC apply settings raised from stock to keep it from locking and unlocking while driving around town cause it annoys me...

You and me both. I actually have my T/H mode set-up like this so that I can just press a button and prevent that crap. It always seems that I get stuck behind some old lady that happens to drive the speed where my converter lock and unlock happen as we go up and down some hills

Are you wanting to lock your converter up at lower speeds? What are you wanting to do?

I think he's trying to intentionally cause the converter clutch to slip and allow partial lockup HEAT and the performabuilt guy is trying to sell a brand new tranny

ZZebes, actually if you re-read his first post it seems the opposite. It looks like he is trying to disable the TCC partial apply and that in effect would reduce slipping and heat build up. It seems like he's trying to make his trans last longer.

Exactly and he said it helps a tiny bit with lower speed fuel economy.

the problem sounds like the partial lockup on the stock transmission. (pwm).
or the converter.
