Default Please help 4.3 harness

I have a 2000 Chevy 1500 with a 4.3 v6. My bar that runs from the fender to the radiator support fell of and bridged my battery and fried my engine harness and two pins going into my computer. Me and a buddy went to a salvage yard and pulled one off another v6 for 75 bucks. It was a 4.3 v6 that we pulled it from same body style and everything but when we started to put the good harness on we realized that the plugs to the computer are different. So we are guessing the harness we got it from a 99 maybe???

The harness that got fried has 4 blue black red and white going into the computer:

This is the harness we bought (the good harness) it only has 2 a blue and a red:

My question is can we use the good harness and just get a computer with 2 plugs that matches it? Or will I need to buy a new harness and computer that have 4 plugs?

Is there any reason why your not fixing your harness?

I'll take pics of the harness, it fried 2 pins on the ecu and some of the wires running to the fuse box. The motor we pulled it from is a v6 I'm positive. How much you want for the v6 harness and ecu?

Gm didn't start to use that red and blue style connector and computer in the S10 platform and the Full size trucks with a V6 untill 2001. I could be wrong as there was a break in production on 2000 Silverado models. So unless it came from something else like a Van of similar years. Then it came from a 01-02 S10/Blazer platform or Truck with V6

That is the same style/color connector they used in a 99-02 V8 Silverado. The 1 MB PCM In 2003 switched colors to blue and green

I would recommend that you get the correct harness for your application. I am not 100% sure what else changed as far as sensors and so on so I would not know what else would have to be changed to make it work.

It could be possible that Gm used different computers in 96-97 versus a 98-00 model even with the body style change, so make sure you get the correct harness and computer for your application.

I should clarify the info I posted above is related to the V6 and the computer/ harness used for that application.

If you get a different computer for your vehicle, it may be need to have VATS removed if it does not start.
