That's alittle much for what I'm wanting. Mainly using it to power my lap top while I log/tune. I had one of the 100w ones that plugs into the cig lighter. Noticed some smoke coming up from the dash. Found out that the wires to the cig lighter got red hot and melted the everything around them. Thank goodness it didn't start a fire.

4GA will work fine for that as long as you keep it under 25'. I have mine running on 6GA but I rarely tax it.

Thanks, What size fuse should I use? I have a 50A but it was meant for a 6ga cable. I'm sure I could make it work. Or will I need a larger one?

You need a 120A fastblow fuse or in my case I just used a 100A delayed breaker. The unit will pull a hefty amperage if you happen to plug in something that starts with higher requirements than the inverter will normally supply.

DO NOT LOG AND TUNE WITH YOUR LAPTOP RUNNING OFF OF A POWER INVERTER!!!

I saw in another post that you have EFILIVE. That can damage your Flashscan, and render it useless. Only log off of battery power. Use the inverter to charge it.
