you ran at 8* when 'normal' is around 18*....you gave up a lot more than 30hp if your setup is anything at all like mine.

There's a point where added timing does no good but at 8* ... put it this way. I run a lot of timing on the street. My last time at the track I ran 2 11.41 runs...added 1 degree and ran 11.34.

1* mind you when I'm already running more than your norm on the street. I'd guess you left 100+ if your A/F is otherwise good

Good question, I'll try to look it up when I get home.

I used the calculator from dragtimes.

Density Altitude: 82 feet
Relative Density: 99.76 %

I'm with Bill on this one, when Wheatley would add one or two degrees on mine, mid run, it was a noticeable change and immediately pulled harder, so ten would be a world of difference, I would say 70+hp

You'd find your answer better if you went on a dyno to measure power output with multiple timing setups.

To quote myself...

Totally agree. On the dyno, (6.0L, mild cam, LT headers - free flowing exhaust, Radix with a 2.8, meth) My old set-up showed an increase of nearly 15RWHP per 2* of advance over 12* (~60RWHP difference from 12* to 20*). I lost HP after 20* and ran into "real KR" at 22*. This was from spark advance only...no other adjustments, 93 pump gas and 50/50 meth with the largest nozzel in the SNOW kit at the time.
