I found this info from a quick Google search, I believe this is the schematic everyone is talking about
If you want to delete PWM you need 1 relay, use one of these two schematics...
near the transmission
near the PCM
If you want to keep the PWM you need 2 relays, use one of these two schematics
near the transmission
near the PCM

If you dont mind splicing the harness then just the 5$ relay is all you need and wire it up like the instructions.

This is the full harness to run the 4L80e on the 4L60e tune so it has the relays and everything. Yes it is expensive but it is a plug and play kit so not to bad. The pigtails are always $$$.
If you dont mind splicing the harness then just the 5$ relay is all you need and wire it up like the instructions.

So from what I am reading, there is no way in the tune to command the converter to not unlock below 5% throttle. Is this correct? Because I just had a segment swap done for a friend to go to a 4l80 tune and he is planning on stalling it soon. Looks like this is the better way to go.
