This is the same, SCT is known for the fords but they have just released the GM tunning, you can load three tunes and save the original settings. It also reads DTC's. I am stoked to start using it, just waiting for the dyno to show up. We have been using it on fords for awhile, and the diesels we have stacked on top of the edge with attitude monitor with outstanding results.

correction...SCT & Superchips are two separate entities. HPT & Superchips partnered not HPT & SCT.

I'm not sure with the SCT you will be tring to use. but with HPTuners it is very easy, just a matter of copy/pasting a few of your tables over after you apply the o.s.
If you pull the MAF you will need to get a IAT sensor and mount it some-where in the intake system. You will also need a chunk of pipe or hose, Or you can just gut the MAF but leave the IAT sensor alone.
BTW, The MAP sensor P/N for up to 15 lbs boost - plug & play:
GM P/N: 12580698 AC Delco P/N: 213-1631
If you leave the maf alone and keep it on the truck, you will need to install the ALKY control nozzle after the maf. plus the nozzle needs to be higher than it's tank and pump.

Ive been looking at this SCT company for a while now, and I am considering going to their training course in Orlando, then becoming a certified dealer.

I had the girst gen Xcalibrator on my Mustang GT a few years ago. It had three custom tunes on it from JMS performance. It was really a great product, just plugged it into the OBD II port, loaded which tune I wanted and that was it. If I needed anything changed they sent the tune via e-mail and I would just download it onto the Xcalibrator.

Had ported heads, VT stage II cams, BBK LT's, yadda yadda and the tunes were dead on..but that attributes more to JMS than the Xcal...it was just a very painless and convenient process.

i will be offering SCT excal for GM vehicles in about 2 wks. I am in the midst of setting up a dealership. Questions feel free to ask. Thanks.
I also use SCT ExCal2 for Fords in my vehicle.
I have a 1998 Ford Explorer Sport with a STS turbo running 6PSI with intercooler and meth (Snow Stage2)....8.55 @ 82.31 MPH in the 1/8th!
By the way, it is a SOHC 4.0L v-6, auto.

Indirectly, I have messed with other software programs for GM. But not SCT's GM tuning, yet. But as I understand It will tune similar to the Ford stuff. I have been assured that if you can tune Ford you will be able to tune GM PCM'S. Of course there will be some minor differences and such, (ex. the MAF, on Ford very crictical, GM not very critical) but other than that it will be similar. I will keep you posted as I will be receiving my GM product the end of next week or Beginning of the following week. After I receive the software I will evaluate the differences. Immediately I have to tune a '05 Vette, 05 4.8L Silverado and a '02 SS, so I will post how well I like, love or hate it. I personally feel that SCT has excellent software and hardware and the GM product base will not be dissappointed. I will keep you posted!
