Default Setting up Histograms in HPtuners

I just got my HP tuners in today and I am trying to follow Yelo's tuning 101 guide to adjust my VE tables but when I am using the scanner the histogram for LTFT but it says that the histogram is not supported with the current loaded parameters?

Anybody have some clues on how to set these things up?

Working on my 08 GMC Sierra 5.3 LMG

It means you are not scanning the items needed in the table display that the histogram needs to fill in the table. You will need to make sure you are scanning LTFT, MAP sensor, and RPM. I bet your missing the MAP sensor.

I checked that and the main table is displaying MAP, MAF, RPM, LTFT,STFT and more, but when I am driving and viewing the scanner it also is showing my LTFT as +25? wierd?

You might be scanning to many things at once. You need to scan MAP sensor values in KPa. if you reset the fuel trims do the LTFT go to zero or do they sty at +25? If your dialing in the VE table you need to use STFT only and disable the LTFTs.

Question

Ok, I am still really confused but how do I change the parameters that I am scanning?

Also when I check the main VE reversion tables most of them are blank 0 on the editor? Is this normal?

My bad, I just noticed you have a NNBS truck which means you have an E38 or similar processor. These do not have VE table like the old trucks since they use a calculated VE value which is very complicated. What are your mods? unless you changed camshaft, displacement or heads you should not have issues with the VE values.

Not many basic everyday driving mods, check my sig. just cat back exhaust and cold air intake, 3200 stall converter and some trans mods. I am just trying to figure where the best place to start is. I took out my predator that I was using and reflashed the ECM/TCM back to stock at work, I noticed a huge difference and I am just trying to get back to where I was from there.

I do spray the truck either 100-125 during the summer when I am drag racing but tuning for that will come later.

So where should I start to try and get it back?

I have always heard about reducing torque management but after checking out all of the diff parameters on the editor I do not even know where to start.

BTW Thanks for all of the info, I feel like a complete dumbass right now, usually people are asking me questions...

With those mods you do not need to worry about the VE section of the tune. Just email me your tune and I will walk you through it. trophystock@yahoo.com
