Speed density tune...Why???
Why does everyone go to a speed density tune? What exactly is the reasoning on a N/A cammed vehicle???
Benefits?
And another question. Why speed density, open-loop?
I understand the MAF is a slight restriction, but how much? 5-10hp? more?
I have a good buddy who's tuned his cammed 5.3 with MAF and o2 sensors and the truck runs amazing. Idles greats, awesome, crisp throttle response.
Please enlighten me on my you would have a speed density, or speed density, open-loop tune. Thanks

mine just seems to run better in OLSD. better idle and better drivability. WOT is all the same. not sure why, but why fight it. just give the truck what it wants hell i still have the MAF in there for the IAT sensor.

I mean, is it just for ease of the tuner? Would your truck run just as good if you spent alot of time on tuning the MAF and fuel trims? I'm just trying to figure this out.
I know when I moved to colorado, my truck was OLSD and once I started climbing elevation, my truck started getting leaner until it wouldn't even run. Tuned it for the altitude and then when I moved back, it was just the opposite(got so rich that it wouldn't hardly run). I'd like to go to drag week but I don't think the truck will make it in its current state without tuning at each track.
If you could dial the MAF in PERFECT, it seems you would never have to touch the ve table again?
I hope corey replies to this. I know he spent alot of time tuning the MAF and then switched. I'd like to here why.

Main reason I switched to SD was for the meth kit. AlkyControl kits themselves are speed density creatures...on the later operating systems, it is extremely difficult to tune for meth that comes on with boost. Plus calibrating the MAF for crazy swirling air is never easy
I think its mostly just personal preference.
